It has been my impression that the disruption of organisational work by
malicious SAR's is not born out by the facts and that mechanisms available
to data controllers within the DPA could provide sufficient defence should
any group try.
The occasional tactical timing of certain matters by individuals/legal/staff
association representatives involved in disputes with organisations seems an
inherent part many dispute processes. Where legitimate SAR's are used in
that process DPO's will inevitably be drawn into something they have not in
the past been party to. That could possibly be what causes the question to
occasionally arise.
I have wondered if the denial of service attacks which happen on the
internet have caused speculation about other areas which may be vulnerable
to such actions, or if such speculation is a result of, or potential defence
for, faulty organisational systems.
