Hi Pat,
I'd have thought the answer to 1) is quite straightforward: difficulty in
concentrating, fatigue, possible reduced attendance at lectures (based on
what you say)... and 2) is up to the Access Centre to decide, surely?
Good luck,
Kirsty

Subject: Bronchiectasis
Dear Disforum List,
I have a student diagnosed with Bronchiectasis. We applied to the
LEA as
normal, to begin the DSA application process, but received a query
in reply.
They want to know:
a) What the impact of this (very unpleasant) condition will have on
the
student's ability to study, and
b) What extra costs would be involved as a direct result.
Daily self-administered physiotherapy is required (there is some
similarity
to Cystic Fibrosis). In addition to medication there is also
fatigue.
I wondered if anyone else has experience of this or who could
suggest what
support will have to be put in place, in answer to the LEA. (
Further
medical evidence is required but I would like to speak to the
student again
before further medical advice is sought.)
Yours hoping,
Pat Costall, BSO.
