Our Overriding mission is to make further education accessible to the whole
community. Nowhere is more evident than in our Access Learning Centre; a
facility designed to provide needs assignments and to support disabled
students on mainstream courese. Within this centre we have the following
vacancies. These posts could be 2 separate 0.5 posts or could be combined
to make one post for the right person.
ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGIES TECHNICIAN - ACCESS CENTRE
HOURS: 18 per week
sALARY: Circa £10,000 per annum

With your experience (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) of installing, managing
and maintaining computer software, you will make a vital contribution to
our Access Centre. It's a stimulating environment where your technical in
put will help teaching staff and students to operate assistive equipment
and learning materials, to help students take part in mainstream
provision. Along with the ability to operate assistive technology, you
will devise and administer an effcient monitoring system for allocating
equipment. You'll need tobe able to communicate effectively with learners
and teaching staff and be highly self motivated, with the ability to plan
and organise your working day without supervision.
ASSESSOR - ACCESS CENTRE
HOURS: 18.5 per week
SALARY: Circa £10,000 per annum

LOCATION: Oxford
We also require a skilled and experienced Assessor to work in our Access
Centre. Recent experience of working in an Accredited Centre would be an
advantage. A good knowledge of specific physical or sensory impairments,
disabling medical conditions, specific learning difficulties or mental
health issues is essential. Prior experience of assessment processes and
knowledge and understanding of the assessee's disability and its impact on
course activities is essential. You will work closely with the Access
centre Manager and the Assistive Technologies Technician to run the Centre
effectively.
