Just a reminder that there are still some places available for the Third
CETIS-TechDis Accessibility Special Interest Group (SIG) Partnership
Meeting on Tuesday 24th June in the Harris Park Conference Centre,
University of Central Lancashire, Preston. There is no charge for
attending the meeting and lunch will be provided.
The agenda will include:
*Dynamic Stylesheets: Customising the User's Experience - Mick Wood.
*Breaking down Barriers and Bridging the Gaps - Sue White from the Virtual
College will give a presentation on the Virtual College's experiences in
making web-based content accessible and the issues involved in trying to
strike a balance between accessibility compliance and usability.
*The NoVA (Non-Visual Access) Report - Jenny Craven from CERLIM (Centre
for Research in Library and Information Management) will give an overview
of the findings from the NoVA Report, which examines the issues regarding
making library and information services accessible to people with visual
impairments.
*An Introduction to the IMS Accessibility for LIP (Learner Information
Package) Specification - Sharon Perry will give a brief introduction to
the new Accessibility for LIP specification. This specification allows
users to specify their preferences for display and assistive technologies.
