Hi all,
Speaking as a VI student, the problems associated with scanning in
material is as follows:
1. Time and repitition; it takes a long time to scan in pages, and
you have to do very repetative work to get a number of pages in.
2. Corrections: Obviously when scanning it is not 100% accurate, so
it is necessary to get someone to correct the scanning material, or to
put it through a filter of common scanning errors.
3. Size of documents: Sometimes books cannot be scanned correctly
easily because of their size, for example in books it is sometimes
necessary to brake the binder in order to get the scanner to rekognise
pages correctly.
Hope this helps,
Andrew.
