Please see below details of the Headstart Seminars - there are still

Headstart  Seminars!

'To make it easier for D/deaf and hard of hearing people to go to
university and to successfully complete their degree courses'. 
(Headstart Project Vision, 2003)

As part of the Headstart Project  'Aims and Objectives', the following
are being offered as a series of seminars by the Headstart Project team,
together with other experts.

10.12.0311am - 4pm      Deaf Awareness training: Training the Trainers
·     sharing of training materials ·       discussion of strategies
to ensure academic staff participate in training·     This will be in
workshop format.        University of Central Lancashire,
Preston(UCLan)

31.03.0411am - 4pm      Supporting Deaf Students: Starting Out·       For HEIs
who are anticipating support requirements for deaf Students or beginning
to enrol deaf students onto their courses for the first time  ·       It will
also look at developing a practical and cost effective model of support
with HEIs who have either no deaf students or very few.

meeting)        Language Support·     Sharing of language support
strategies and materials development (on-line group)· discuss
modifying learning materials· This will be in workshop
format.·      This will be held in association with the
C.H.E.S.S. Meeting      You may wish to attend for half a day or a full
day.  Venue - University of Wolverhampton
