Dear all
It's another residential services question again...
How do other institutions support requests for data points within halls
of residences for dyslexic students? We have a bunch of halls, all
different in size and age and we receive individual requests from
students who are dyslexic and in receipt of DSA for a phone line to be
installed. We have installed a phone line in the past, however who
would be responsible for the line rental charges? I know the DSA has
funded internet connection charges in the past for individuals, however
do other institutions have a policy about this?
It seems a tricky one to me as the line 'rental' is not something that
would remain within the College, but is linked to the student, as is
the reconnection charge. The installation of the phone line could be
funded by the College as this would of course remain.
If the policy is the address each application as an individual, where
is line the draw and how?
Any help or knowledge about previous examples in this area would be
extremely helpful.
