I am sure there will be many replies to this one. However I have just one point to make and that is
with the laptop - make sure that the audio socket is as far away as possible from the fan, as this
seems to create a lot of interference.

Has anyone experience of using Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred on a
laptop. At CCN we have used different microphones / monaural headsets which
are Scansoft recommended based upon their hardware compatibility list with
varying accuracy. Can anyone recommend, based on use, a good quality headset
microphone that works accurately when using DNSP on a laptop. I think the
microphones must pick up noise / interference from the laptop.
