I assume you have enquired about the nature of this phobia?
Is it the actual exam or the physical setting?
I have had experience of a couple of students with similar
issues. Some who were verging on agrophobia - couldn't
cope with having to be in a huge silent space, surrounded
by other people - and therefore fell apart in exams. In
some cases it has been a combination of that setting, along
with some historical issue relating to exams (ridicule at
school for finishing early or failure on one particularly
stressful occasion. If the stress levels are so high that
she is panicking already, surely her doctor will attest to
this as a medical problem and therefore permission could be
granted for her to sit the exams in a more congenial
environment - assuming she could cope with that. Or is it
so bad you are looking at an alternative format?
