Yes, apparently with their own rules. A student who was assessed as
dyslexic by a respected educational psychologist, whose reports have
been acceptable to all other LEAs we have dealt with, was turned down
for DSA support. The attitude towards dyslexia within the Jersey
authority was not one of the most enlightened we have encountered. The
student got their local MP on side, to no avail. Did we just come up
against resistant individuals or is something institutional going on?
Other anecdotal evidence might shed some light.
