"Senda compliance" a document for the SW coordinated by Plymouth seems to
imply that Access to Work funding is available for sandwich placement
adjustments - does that help?

Dear Faye and all
I fully believe that Access to Work may have told you that but it is not
true! Access to Work funding is to support disabled people in
employment, at whatever stage they are at, this issue needs pushing with
Access to Work, the Employment Service, for them to realise and act upon
their responsibilities, employers also need to be encouraged to behave
responsibly too.
After all the DDA did cover employment years before it covered
education, all the things which we are being asked and expected to do
because of SENDA employers should have been doing since 1995!
Can I urge you all to please find out about Access to Work rules and
regulations and help them to apply them!
Chris

Here at Coventry we have some limited funding available for students
such as these who wont receive DSA support. Though this doesn't stretch
to buying a PC etc. but will fund other support or software if the
student already has a PC.
I've found that Access to Work hasn't been of any use to any students at
all. I was also told by the employment services that this was only for
adjustments at the start of employment and that any new training/study
was not covered by it.
We have had some employers pay for support - but this is dependant on
whether the student wants them to know about their needs and approach
them with recommendations for support and costings.
