Yes, but you need to get the message out through a gateway - there are
Internet gateways available at cost, and also you can use a fax modem,
but again you need to pay for the call. It is cheaper to make the sms
message on the mobile and send it (i.e, 10 p per message as opposed to
around 20 p with the fax modem). Internet services tend to differ in
price, but tend to be aimed at the high corperate business.
Have you thought about obtaining a contract with a phone company and
getting a number of free texts per month? It may be cheaper to do it
this way if you are sending out a lot of messages.
