Hi all
sorry to bother everyone but wanted to share my disappointment with people
who will understand.
I was specifying a new text from SAGE publications as part of the essential
reading for a MSc. programme - we are purchasing the essential texts for the
students on the programme as it is distance learning and we send them a pack
of material. I checked with SAGE if they could provide me with one of the 10
copies I need this year in an electronic format for a blind student. They
declined it being too difficult for them. Whilst I appreciate an older text
may not be available electronically I do feel a 2002 publication can be
obtained electronically.
Anyway I am from now on boycotting SAGE publications for their lack of
helpfulness and would be pleased if you would pass this on to others in
institutions who purchase text books. Perhaps then they will realise that it
is not just about selling the easiest way, but that they have a
responsibility to all their potential readers. I do not think I was making
an unreasonable request do you?
thanks
marcus
