This is a really difficult one to answer, the best advice is to contact the company that supplied the software and ask them. Different licences have different conditions. I would also check the situation in terms of campus, some licences are only valid for a named campus, i.e. if you had a 5 user licence you may only be able to use it on one physical site rahter than across the whole institution (if it is multi site).
