We have a student who has applied to do a child care course ( she is 16 )
and who is profoundly deaf.
We can provide support for her but the course team are concerned that she
will not be able to communicate well enough with the children in her care
and will not be able to, for example, hear a baby crying. I'm very keen for
her to succeed - and I'd be grateful if you could let me know of any similar
cases and how these difficulties were overcome. I'd also be grateful for any
information as to professional bodies who may be able to help and advise
many thanks
