Hi all,
Regarding the Nomad digital recorder III, I do have one of these
devices, and would say that overall it is not the most accessible of
devices for VI to use, and at over £200 quid for the 20 gig version,
it is not the cheapest either.
The device operates primarily from a wheel which has no start or end
position, and resembles a scroll wheel on a mouse. One can move the
wheel up or down to move through different menu options, and press the
button in to get the option selected. I use very large LVA glasses to
view the screen, and on the latest versions of the firmware for the
device you can actually enlarge the font for the menus. However, I
would not recomend it unless there was a good budget or you were not
visually impaired (though it is a superb music player (which was what
I got it for), and does recording well).
I do like the sound of the Olympus recorders, however, when recording
lectures with this device, can you plug in an external microphone?
Andrew.
