Yes, it's a problem that arose for me making recommendations for an OU
student some time ago. I doubt if RNID have any sway with manufacturers in
Japan. - US associations for the deaf might be able to put some pressure on
them. But it might all be superceded by the move to digital TV - can we look
forward to students wanting a SKY subscription so that they can record
subtitles????

This is interesting, I've spoken to Connevans, assessors need to be aware
that if they are going to recommend the telemole at £229.00 it needs to be
used in conjunction with a video recorder (thus taking the price somewhat
over what a panasonic would have cost - so glad I've got one) This is going
to be quite a problem for Deaf students needing to access TV programmes and
films for their courses. Let's hope some pressure is brought to bear by
someone like the RNId soon.

Conatct Connevans 01737 247571 - they do a 'Telemole' adapter that sits
