Hi Pauline, I think your plans are a great idea, as we all know some
sites are more accessible than others (whether you have a disability or
not in my experience). Certainly I would expect to find some
information relating to accessibility on an educational establishments
pages. Having a statement of intent goes one step further and
illustrates the fact that although a site may have areas which need
accessibility improvement, there is a plan which will see necessary
changes made. I would also try to include somewhere an accessibility
feedback link to allow users to inform you of any problems they may have
encountered, allowing you to refine things further.
Regarding your question, I suggest you contact Julie Howell at RNIB who
may be able to point you in the right direction, she has done a lot of
work in the area of web accessibility (including education).
Good luck
Paul Guyver

Subject: Web Accessibility Statements
Dear All,
Has anyone produced a web accessibility statement for their University's
website, detailing how accessible the site is, plans for increasing
access and a
contact person? If so, I'd love to have your URL, as we are thinking
about
placing that on our website.
Regards
Pauline.
