Subject: Letter on recording lectures
I am unsure if this has already been distributed to Disability Officers but
just in case it hasn't, please find attached recent guidance produced by
NATFHE, the DRC and Skill on recording lectures which we are asking
institutions to disseminate widely.
On a related point, we have been asked a few times about hand-outs, OHP
transparencies, etc. and copyright. According to NATFHE, it is clear within
the national contract that course materials even if produced by the lecturer
are the intellectual property of the institution. NATFHE have said that they
will always advise members to a) adhere to the terms of the national
contract and b) to make a reasonable adjustment to enable disabled students
to enjoy the same access to education as non disabled students.
Many thanks - wishing everyone a happy happy festive season!
