The 11watt fluorescent bulb used in several adjustable lights is bright and
does not get too hot over time and an example can be found at
http://www.swretail.fsnet.co.uk/it110002.htm.
If REMAP and the APH one from Hagger's is not suitable and the photographic
ones too small, there are some commercial options available from CLE, 69-71
Haydons Road, Wimbledon, London SW19 1HQ, Tel 020 8540 5772
http://www.cle-design.com/pages/pages-lighting/light-box.htm
e.g. Perspex topped lightbox A4, 220/240V 322x214x80 VLA447240 £175-00
Please let me know if you have success as I would like to add the item to
our database. Many thanks.
Best wishes

Charlie,
If all else fails, try REMAP who are contactable through RADAR, they make
one off pieces of equipment for disabled people.
Kind regards,
Anna

I am wondering if any can help please? I have a student who has quite
severe visual impairment who requires the use of an adjustable desk lamp
that has a "cool" bulb (e.g. some kind of bright LED bulb) as she needs to
place it close to her face and hands to allow her to see what she is doing.
She also requires some kind of light box (e.g. an X Ray box) that she can
lean on to trace drawings. She currently has a homemade one consisting of a
clothes drawer with a light bulb fitted to it and a sheet of glass on top
for her to lean on (not the safest of designs). Can anybody help please with
where I could start looking? Have searched the internet for "cool lights"
etc and "X ray boxes" or "X ray viewing boxes" and not had much success.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
