Although I tend to agree with Peter's view on this (copied below)
Interestingly, a mature student said to me recently that she would not want to record
lectures (in her case they were more like group discussion classes) as she was
aware that the lecturer and other students would be uncomfortable. She said
lecturers are under enough pressure as it is and they deserve as much protection
as possible.
