If it is text to speech Donna rather than a screen reader then Write Outloud
and TextHelp Type and Talk for Mac will work in a separate window and allow
for direct pasting of text into any word processor as you mentioned but you
can also use the Mac text reader that comes with the system
http://www.apple.com/disability/easyaccess.html#text. Read and Write for
Mac will work with OSX has word prediction, highlighting etc and integrates
with many other applications not just word processors but not in the same
way as the PC version - it uses a menu button to transfer data from the
small window to any open file such as a database, e-mail, word processor etc
- please let me know if you need any more information as we are testing it
at the moment. I popped a news item about it on the database
http://www.niad.sussex.ac.uk/news_article.cfm?Article=134
I think you may have to wait a little longer than this week for this latest
version but please forgive me if I am wrong!
Best wishes

Unfortunately TextHELP! Type and Talk has not been working with OSX for
Macs. However a new program from TextHELP! called Read and Write for Mac is
coming out this week. No idea how good it will be, but it can't be worse
than Type and Talk. Or can it?
