Totally aggreed. I think this is why the Artic products are still
selling - to provide a low cost alternative to students who can't
afford the Braillenote et al.

Currently the only project I know of is to get the Simbion OS to
work - this is so products like the Nokia 9210I will speak
correctly. This is actually being used by some VI people now,
however, with the small keyboard is not very suitable imho for note
taking tasks, plus I am not sure whether you would get funding for
what is essencially a top of the range mobile phone. One issue with
the Palm software is its reliance on handwriting, I am wondering
whether the Alphasmart negates this issue though?
