I've had an enquiry from a police force trying to trace a missing person. They
don't appear to believe an offence may have been committed and so S29 won't
apply. If an adult voluntarily goes "missing" I'm inclined to say that's their
business (even if it causes distress to others) and we shouldn't disclose
anything unless there is reason to believe it is in their vital interests - all
thoughts welcomed.
Out of interest if it were a minor, say mid-teens (its not), would you take a
different view than with an adult?
Regards
Chris
