Even a blind student has the option of arranging his/her own study
support arrangements. If the institution were to say 'you use our
facilities or you will not be admitted', then I'm fairly confident that
would be in breach of the DDA. I can't see how dyslexia is any
different in this respect. Of course, there's no reason why an HEI
should not strongly encourage dyslexic students to access such a module.
Having said that, I believe that the modules run at UCW were fully
subscribed from the outset - with no pressure on applicants.

It's certainly possible to set up support for groups under DSA funding.
However, if the activity is formally accredited and contributes
towards the student's degree, then I imagine it would be funded in the
same way as other modules. The DSA pays for support - not study per se.
