Be glad you don't have the proportion that we have. Out of 570 students we
have nearly 80 dyslexics, of whom I think around 25 have DSA support.

In August of this year HEFCE provided me with information for a
paper I was
preparing which helps answer this question.
The quote below is taken direct from the information I was provided
with:
"... 59% of students receiving DSAs are reported as having
dyslexia. Note
that
the disability declared is not necessarily the disability for which
the
allowance is received. In 1999-2000 20730 UK Domiciled HE students
were
reported as having dyslexia, out of 1,631,680 students (representing
1.3%).
Again, I think that this represents a level of under-reporting.

I agree with the above statement that the 1.3% figure is likely to
be an
under-reporting. If the real figure is one of 5% then there are
approximately 80,000 dyslexic students in HE. If there are times
the
current procedures and support systems are creaking with strain then
.........!
