This is not my experience of how it works!
As I understand it, the most important thing is that they need to have a
.ac.uk email address that Adobe can send a code to. This confirms them
in the eyes of Adobe as a genuine student or member of staff. This code
can then be presented to an approved student supplier in order for them to
release a package at the reduced price.
