You might try scanning with Ominpage or the like and just saving the
result as a Word file; it's probably quicker than retyping if any
quantity of text is involved. Then just bang it through BrailleMaker
or the like.
The only problem is if you want to preserve some relationship to the
original layout, but that really calls for pretty advanced Brailling
skills.
