OK here is my summary of what is now done.
(1) I "buy" that any accident, disease etc ... resulting in being off work
for more than 3 days has to be reported.
(2a) As it happens our relevant office is redesigning the internal paper form
so I asked them to collect all necessary information on the form and explain
what will happen to it (disclosure to HSE, insurance etc).
(2b) If there is a serious accident and the subject cannot complete the form
then personnel give the data (oh dear, we will have to add another 14 pages
on the data protection statement of our personnel services for new
employees).
(3) I shall send a letter to HSE telling them what I think of their lack of
care for the transfer of data ..., perharps they are asking for excessive
information, would be nice, ie. NECESSARY, to tell what they will do with the
data of the injured person and of the person who does the submission.
Data Protection Helmet on. Here we go, 'ere we go, 'ere we gooooo.
Thanks for all the replies.
Charles
