The full version 5 of Acrobat (about 150GBP) can save a document in rich
text format, HTML, XML, accessible text or plain text using File|Save As'
but the quality of output will vary enormously depending on the original
document source. It could just be what you need though!
Rich text is probably the best option as you can read this straight back
into Word.
