I know where you are coming from..some Departments within our Council allow
personal e-mail use but it does not seem to be a corporate thing.
The only thing I can say from this Council's point of view is that we do
have an e-mail Policy in place but the only way they will monitor any e-mail
is if they have reason to believe that someone is totally abusing the system
and whether it be personal e-mail/business all will be monitored. We are a
public body and have a duty to the C/T payers, Also, the equipment is owned
by the Council so at the end of the day who really has a right to object?
