I have advised against putting the electoral register on the internet
for the foreseeable future until the regulations on Representation of
the People Act are clear in view of the Robertson v Wakefield case which
went to Court recently.
There is a guidance note on the IC web site advising not to sell copies
at the present time. If you put it on a web site and protect it so that
it can't be copied or manipulated you can be sure that some bright spark
will find a way to do it before too long.
