Tim Trent wrote about the the Nigerian Email scam.
I have received it but I also get passed at least one copy a week
of similar emails that have been received by members of staff.
It is, of course possible, even likely, that the archive has been
used but unless the things become a torrent so what? It takes
only seconds to delete.
Since the advice given is always delete and NEVER respond if we
all do this then it will become clear that mailing this list on
such things is a waste of time.
Sadly I see them as part of internet life along with virus
hoaxes, offers of porn etc.. Unless someone comes up with a 100%
successful filter (perhaps it could also make pigs fly!) then the
delete key seems the best option.
