Dear Colleague,
I am writing to you in the hope that you will wish to make a contribution to
an important new HEFCE-funded project.
The project is compiling a resource-map that will enable all higher
education staff draw upon work that supports the teaching and learning
requirements of disabled students, wherever the work may have taken place.
With the increased number of students with disabilities that are taking up
their right to higher education and the changing legal obligations of
institutions, it is essential that we all have the best possible access to
the widest possible range of material.
The map will also help those who have originated material in this area get
proper recognition for their work. When complete, it will be available from
the HEFCE website and in hard copy.
My request is that you give a little time to completing the questionnaire
available on-line at
http://cehep.open.ac.uk/cehep/educational/mapping_resources/index.htm ,
through which we are gathering information for the map.
The value of the map will be directly determined by the input that you and
your colleagues provide. I hope you will be able to give the limited time
needed to complete the questionnaire; it can be completed quite quickly if
you have the information needed readily to hand.
Do please contact myself ([log in to unmask]) or Fiona Reid
([log in to unmask]) if you have any questions about the questionnaire or
the overall project. Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
