We have a student who had to leave an art and design course a couple of
years ago due to a deteriorating sight condition. He has since had
treatment and feels that he is now ready to come back to University to get
a degree, however he has been advised not to do the same course as it is
predominantly workshop based and creates too much dust which could be
harmful for him.
We have identified an alternative computer based course which he would now
very much like to do, but the LEA are telling him that they can't support
him with his fees as he will be starting a new three year course.
As he had to leave his previous course due to serious disability related
reasons, this to us seems quite unfair.
Does anyone have any advice?
