Dear Dis-forum list members
I am working on a strand 2 bid for the HEFCE 'Improving Provision for
Disabled Students' funding.
Our bid comes from the Art and Design sector and is concerned with access
to the processes and and machines used in studios and workshops -
particularly in relation to offering equality of experience.
If our bid is successful we will systematically analyse a broad range of
such resources and produce guidelines on how to anticipate disabled
students' needs (clearly this will not replace the need for individual
assessments).
It is important that our bid results in a resource which can be
used across the sector. We are anxious not to reinvent any wheels and
would welcome hearing from if you have experience undertaking this type of
work either at the planning stage or in response to individual student
issues.
This might be in subjects other than Art & Design - e.g. engineering, but
we do not need information relating to IT labs/workshops.
Many thanks
