a Disability Adviser to work in partnership with the acting Disability
Co-ordinator for a six month period to cover maternity leave.
The closing date is 14 June, with short listed applicants being
interviewed on the 24 June.

Salary u20,051 - u23,251 pro-rata

The Equal Opportunities Office wishes to appoint a Disability
Adviser to work in partnership with the acting Disability Co-
ordinator for a six- month period. The
post holder will support the work of the Disability Co- ordinator in providing a
service to students and staff with disabilities, including people with dyslexia.
This will involve advising students, liasing with colleagues to implement
provision, and supporting the development work undertaken by the Disability Co-
ordinator. He or she will be a member of the Equal Opportunities team, based in
the Central University Offices, and will report to the University Equal
Opportunities Officer. The Disability Co-ordinator will provide day to day
supervision.
The successful candidate will have or will be able to demonstrate the ability to
acquire the following knowledge/skills within a short timeframe:
+ An up-to-date knowledge of the legislation relating to disability.
+ A creative approach to problem solving.
+ Good communication skills, written and oral.
+ Competent Information Technology skills, with familiarity of using word
processing and databases.
+ An ability to work on his or her own initiative, as well as in
partnership with others.
