Magnifier and Narrator in XP are definitely NOT going to be sufficient
for blind and low vision users who need serious access to their PC -
they are designed to help someone set up their PC and when using someone
else's PC for short periods, and are not fully-fledged access
technology.
If you or your blind students need a reference book on Windows XP, RNIB
are soon to publish my book 'Windows XP Explained: A Guide for Blind and
Visually Impaired Users' (due out in Aug).

Subject: Microsoft Windows XP Narrator/Magnifier
Can anyone tell me whether the Microsoft Windows XP Narrator/XP
Magnifier are potential replacements for JAWS/ZoomText Level 1
respectively, for students with a visual impairment? We currently have
network copies of JAWS (version 4.0) and ZoomText Level 1 (version
7.06), running on a Microsoft Windows NT server/98 client.
Thanks
