Hi
I met an FE student today who sustained a head injury a couple of years
ago. Although she has returned to study, she is expereincing quite a
few problems as a result of impaired long term memory, sequencing and
retrieval. She relies heavily on support from her mother - who sends
her text messages during the day to remind her where she should be next,
etc. The student also programmes her mobile phone to provide reminders.
However the phone will only hold one reminder at a time.
It occurs to me that a personal organiser with a reminder facility (eg
incorporating a buzzer)would help this student function more independently.
Has anyone recommended or had experience of this sort of equipment in
such a context. The student does not have any mobility difficulties and
has decent IT skills - so using an organiser should not prove a
challenge for her.
Any advice gratefully received
Regards
