Good morning all!
This is a query regarding a student using an amanuensis and I am in need
of some advice.
1) How often should an amanuensis have a rest break for and for how
long?
2) Should the student's extra time be added onto the end of the exam?
(including the scribes breaks)
The situation I have at the moment is that a one of a department's
secretaries is acting as an amanuensis for a student. She has told me
that in the past she has had a rest break every hour for 15 minutes.
The student continues to work under exam conditions reading through the
work, and this is therefore the student's recommended extra time. What
are other people's views on this? Is this reasonable or should the exam
break when the amanuensis is having a rest break, and then resume,
adding the 25% extra time at the end?
I hope I have explained this okay and that it makes sense to someone!
Any advice would be gratefully received. Thank you in advance.
With best wishes
