Ken, I know we discussed this at Bett but I have been thinking about the
problem. I would carry the assessment out over several sessions and unpick
each aspect that you want to assess and then find an alternative method
which compares reasonably favourably with the usual set of tests as I do not
think the norms are going to work.
LADS was one idea if computers are an option with switch/keyboard access and
evaluating short term memory using Mastering Memory could be another idea
and it might be useful to speak to Jane Mitchell at CALSC Tel: 020 8642 4663
as she is both a Speech Therapist and Dyslexia specialist. As a Speech
Therapist she may mention Celf R which has tests that look at aspects of
language missed by other assessments.
I would love to learn what works.
Best wishes

Subject: cerebral palsy and dyslexia
Has anyone experience of assessing a cerebral palsy student for dyslexia ?
The student has a very limited vocabulary which is difficult to understand
and a very limited range of written words.
What approach and strategies have you adopted in order to undertake an
assessment?
Regards
