You don't mention whether the student is doing a ug or pg
programme. If the latter, then the Channels Island pay pg fees for
students who get a first degree award of 2.1 or above. They have
linked the DSA awards to this criteria as well I discovered when I
was following up a decision to refuse the DSA on behalf of one of
our students and I have been in discussions since. I pointed out
that it was a discriminatory to base DSA award decisions on
previous academic performance. I had several conversations last
term with Mr Hocart who I believe was going to talk to DEFS as
they are very much out of line with other LEAs on this.
