George
Under what section of what VAT notice/regulation? My understanding is
that unless they are:
1) For the use of specific, named individuals; or
2) Paid for with funds provided from voluntary donations; or
3) For medical or veterinary research, diagnosis or training;
supplies to a University of goods designed for disabled people cannot be
zero rated.
I think that you and we may be getting different guidance . . .
See www.dyslexic.com/articles.php?infoid=5 (sorry some links need
updating -- the VAT notices have moved to
http://www.hmce.gov.uk/forms/notices/701-6.htm etc, with /forms now
inserted.)

Thanks George
No. The money is to provide a bank of equipment which can be lent to
students, either while awaiting their own equipment from DSA, or
because they are disabled and don't qualify for DSA, or because they
have become temporarily disabled or injured through accident. The
equipment would remain property of university.
