Dear All
The TechDis Workshop Series has added a new date, December 5th, into the programme. The workshop, entitled 'Text Help Techniques and Technology' will take place in York, and as usual is free to attend, though a £50 charge will be made for non-attendance, to cover admin costs.
The workshop will look at a range of Text Help issues including the pros and cons of using text-to-speech, spell checkers, homophone checkers, dictionaries, word prediction, scanning and electronic data collection systems. A range of software will be demonstrated and there will be a session for you to use the technology yourself and learn about its advantages and disadvantages first hand.
If you would like to know more, please contact the lead facilitator for this workshop, EA Draffan ([log in to unmask]).
Booking forms can be found at www.techdis.ac.uk/workshops
Numbers will be strictly limited to 16, so if you need to arrange permission to attend, contact Sue Harrison ([log in to unmask]) to provisionally reserve a place as they are likely to fill up fast. Reservations will be held until a week before the event, after which unconfirmed places will be reallocated.
Regards to all
