Following my original email to the Disforum email list, I was advised to
contact the CAE (The Centre for Accessible Environments, www.cae.org.uk ).
On their suggestion, I then contacted Dulux Trade (Natalie Dawn Manning,
Dulux Trade Technical Group, Tel. 0870 242 1100) www.duluxtrade.co.uk .
Dulux sent me a CD-ROM and book entitled, ‘Colour & Contrast - A design
guide for the use of colour and contrast to improve the built environment
for visually impaired people’, which I have found very useful.
Further information (taken from the ‘Colour & Contrast…’ CD-ROM cover):
- For information regarding publications relating to this project, and for
information on other projects relating to the inclusive environment
research group, contact K. Bright, The University of Reading.

I have recently been allocated a room, specifically to teach Information
Technology to my students with a visual impairment, but the room needs
decorating. Can anyone recommend a contrasting colour scheme for the walls,
skirting frames, door, doorframe and carpet for this room?
