My hand is in the air and I have to say that some
of what was being done bore a considerable
resemblance to the Brain Gym work that I saw
demonstrated (and having a positive effect) quite a
few years ago. However, I would add that the
practitioner in question was the first to say that
this method did not work for every person and that
the prime purpose was to encourage both hemispheres
of the brain to operate simultaneously and in
reasonable balance with one another, rather than
one dominating the other totally.
The sensationalism of what purport to be "cures"
for dyslexia is worrying, but perhaps most people
with any condition that is preventing them from
operating at their full potential, in whatever
field, would appreciate an opportunity to try out
something that may improve their life. The
dangerous bit is assuming that it is a miracle cure
for everyone.
