Hi all
I suspect that this has cropped up before but my search on the archive was not overly successful.
We have had a couple of letters from the Dept. for Work & Pensions local office requesting information. They have quoted the following acts :-
At the head of the letter
Social Security Administration Act 1992, Section 109B (as amended by the Social Security Fraud Act 2001)
Within the body of the letter
I am authorized to require you to provide information in the exercise of powers contained in Section 109A of the Social Security Administration Act 1992
Also attached to the letter is a photocopied certificate quoting
Social Security Administration Act 1992.
As I understand it the 1992 act did not oblige educational establishments to disclose the data but the amendment by the Social Security Fraud Act 2001 did. Should I disclose in this case or not?
Thanks
Neil Davidson
