I am currently helping to re-assess the Risk Address Register held within
our Ambulance Trust. However, a problem arose at this mornings meeting
regarding which address could be 'tagged'. (We have to 'tag' by address as
we are not always able to obtain surnames).
Our policy is to inform 'offenders' (as far as possible) that they have been
placed on a potentially violent persons register. A lot of the times this
has to be done via the Occupier at the address where the incident occurred
as the name is not known. However, with a pub the Occupier would be the
Landlord or Manager who would not have anything to do with the violence.
Therefore, we would not be able to write to the 'offender'.
My question is, would there be Data Protection consequences of holding on
file the name of a pub known to be a regular 'trouble' area. This would be
done purely to warn crews attending a call to that pub that there may be the
chance of trouble.
Advice would be greatly appreciated.
