I hope I am not re-treading old ground but here goes!
Last week we were contacted by Transort for London in relation to their
Central London congestion charges scheme. They are asking us (a London
Borough) to provide them with names and addresses of those people who are
elegible for significant discounts on the planned charges so that they can
be contacted.
Whilst this would undoubtedly benefit the data subjects, the Office of the
Information Commissioner have suggested that they would expect TfL to
exercise a legislative power to obtain this information.
Have any other London Boroughs come across this and if so, how are you
proceeding?
Any help you could provide would be of real use since TfL would lke the
information yesterday and we would like to avoid obstructing the process.
Many thanks,
Nick Grinfeld
