Having roughly followed this thread I agree that Notification is
probably necessary in this case. However, it has to be noted that
35 pounds is a not insignificant sum for many not for profit
organisations compared with being about the cost of one hour of
data protection officer time for a local authority - or even a
university!
It was a cunning piece of "hidden" cost rise and a massive
increase in unnecessary bureaucracy, to make notification annual
compared with triennial registration. And if you are a day late
the Commissioner increases bureaucracy even further by demanding
a complete new notification - which appears to cause the OIC more
work than it does the notifier!
